Happy New Year 2019

Happy New Year to all of you! I haven’t posted anything for several months mainly because I have been feeling uninspired and not motivated at all due to a lot of personal stuff that have happened in my life. I know this happens to some of us at any moment of our lives. But sometimes you have to really fight through stressful moments and try to keep the course of you life steady for your family, especially for my kids. This year I am making a pledge to myself and to my Clients that my work and my images show true connection and real moments that will be treasured and cherished by the whole family. Just like how I made a fervent effort in capturing my Family's true joy in this Holiday celebration. I am making a commitment to truly enjoy every moment I capture for my Clients and make sure to capture present & heartfelt slices of life. I wish you all a Blessed New Year filled with love, beauty, and happiness.

'O ku'u aloha no 'oe - You are indeed my love

When I first met Chris and Elaine, I was immediately blown away by their passion for health and fitness. They are very passionate about how they exercise and what they eat with every single meal. And then I learned about how long they have been together and how deep is their love for each other, I learned about their love story. Chris and Elaine met back in 2007 in Honolulu when Chris went to his High School reunion. Their first date was very unique, when Elaine visited Chris during New Year's eve weekend in San Francisco where they spent a couple days getting to know each other. They have endured a long distance relationship for about a year and a half before they decided to be together in San Francisco.

I had the privilege of photographing their engagement, I was able to immediately tell we were going to have a lot of fun with this session. They're a very laid back and fun couple to photograph. Looking through my lens and seeing how they look at each other, how Elaine puts her arms around him, and how Chris holds her hand, I could tell how deeply in love are these two. They love celebrating their love and how blessed they are being in each other's arms. I just love capturing two people who celebrates love and life, two people who are just perfect for each other.

The Wedding Album

I have always loved looking back at our family photos. Especially the black and white ones that my parents have of themselves back in the 40s and 50s. Even though we grew up with not having a lot of money, my Dad have always managed to have good quality photos of family gatherings, trips to the beach, riding our bikes going down our street, or just us hanging around the house. My Dad also loved buying albums and making sure our photos are well preserved for us to look back on anytime and relive those happy moments. I am so glad that my Dad have chosen to preserve our photos in Albums, especially now that he is not with us anymore. Our Albums are like time machines that takes us back and reminisce all the happy memories that we have.

In today’s world, we are able to take thousands of photos and share them online instantly. Having the ability to upload all of your Wedding photos to an online Album or your choice of social media and share them with loved ones all around the world is undeniably convenient, but there’s nothing like a tangible keepsake that beautifully captures your special day. A true memento that is evidence of how we felt on the Wedding day with all of our family and friends.

That is why I am very proud to have partnered with my Album Company, Finao to help my Bride and Grooms have a chance to create their first Heirloom to treasure and share with family and their future children.

All the Albums that I offer are custom-designed books, hand-stitched and hand assembled in Port Washington, New York, made just for you.

Because of all the things you will spend money on for your Wedding, your Album and the photos in them are the ONLY keepsakes that you get to take home that will increase in value and will stand the test of time. As the years pass, you’ll be more and more glad that you have them. Especially, if you can relive those joyous moments looking through them by flipping through a gorgeous custom-designed Album.

So In Love...

Hi guys. I am here again to share another set of beautiful images that I have helped create from another one of my favorite Clients. When I first had my meeting with Christina and Alberto, it was just through a Skype call. Christina was mainly in charge of all the planning for their Wedding; during that time Alberto was a little busy finishing Medical School. As soon as Christina and I started talking about the details of their Engagement session, I could hear pure excitement and a little nervousness in her voice. I tried to guide her and answered all of her concerns with regards to the photography aspect of the event. We talked a lot about their outfits and the location of their photoshoot, we felt really comfortable just talking about the Wedding day. They lived in Palm Springs at that time and Christina mentioned how they both love San Diego and our beaches so we all decided to do the photoshoot at Balboa park and in Coronado beach. Here are some of the photos that we made, I hope ya'll like them.

You're my Hallelujah.

Ok, here we go, my first Blog of 2018. When I met Kelly and Julius, I truly felt how these two adore and love each other so much. It reminded me on during the first few months of when I married my wife. It was exciting, electrifying, I was loving every minute of it. It made me feel tall, it made me feel strong, it made me feel smart, it made me feel the luckiest man on earth. Although Kelly and Julius session with me was a little short notice because of being in the Navy, Julius had to fly to Hawaii soon. I wanted to make sure these two had some wonderful and memorable photos of the beginning chapter of their lives together.  Every time I photograph my Clients, it always reminds me of how my wife and I never had a photographer to take beautiful photos of us when were really young and about to begin our journey as husband and wife. So I always make sure I give my best and provide my Clients the best photos of themselves, showing who they really are when they are in each other's arms. I am such a sucker for young love.

Won't let this feeling fade away...

This year may not have been a really busy year of Weddings for me but the few that I was able to be a part of have been really meaningful and enjoyable because of the couples that I was blessed to have met in the past. I am really Thankful and Grateful for them and for trusting me to capture and preserve the beautiful moments that have unfolded on their Wedding day. I wanted to share one of the gorgeous couples, Bailey and Ryan, that I was honored to witness the love between two radiant souls. I hope you all like it.

You be You, and I'll be Me...

It may sound cliche to some, I meet a lot of people whom I have photograph for their Engagement or Wedding and once I see my clients become comfortable and just let go, to forget that I am not even there. They just be themselves. Some people who are not usually comfortable having a strange person with a huge blackbox with a bazooka of a lens pointed straight at them may need a little coaxing. That is what happened when I photographed Bailee and Ryan for their Engagement. Their true selves came out and everything just becomes play time and goofing around, that's where the magic happens. This may be a little overdue but I am just motivated and excited to showcase so I can keep the momentum going. The series of photographs here are from their Engagement from last Summer. Yesterday, we just finished documenting their Wedding at Scripps SeaSide Forum in La Jolla, California I hope to post some sneak peeks next week. Meanwhile, please enjoy.

Man & Wife plus One

So many things have happened in my life in the past year. I have been a bit behind on posting and sharing some of my work. This year is definitely going to be a challenge for me and I am staring to get back in to the grind and take a step closer to becoming a better Photographer for my Clients. So here is something that is definitely worth sharing.

Several months ago, my previous Clients, Joanne and Chris e-mailed me and announced that they are now expecting their first baby. Joanne was about 5 months when they asked if I could take some Maternity photos for them. I was so thrilled for them as I can definitely remember when we had my first Son. It was definitely an exciting time and a little scary but of course it was definitely worth it. There is nothing like having your first baby and having photos like these to look back at and share them with your children. Life is measured in Moments and these are definitely worth sharing.

Man & Wife

When I first met Joanne and Chris at the Bridal Show in Del Mar, California; I knew that these two were meant to be together. They look great together and they compliment each other's life. From the day that I did their Engagement session at the Grand Tradition Estate in Fallbrook to their Wedding day at Loews Coronado, their life together has been full of blessings from their loving families, to their closest friends, and of course from God above. Here are some of beautiful moments of their journey in to becoming Man & Wife.

Aloha Nui Loa ~ All my love

A few years back when I was starting out in photographing Weddings, I was asked to photograph a Hawaiian Wedding that was going to be done locally here in San Diego. It was a big party and I heard that it was going to be decorated with lots of flowers. At first, I thought they were going to use the local flower boutiques to decorate the venue. When I walked in to where the Bride and her Bridesmaid were getting ready, a few minutes later several boxes were dropped off and the Bride and the Officiant started opening them. I was totally surprised by the amount of flowers and all the Lei that they have brought out. The whole room was smelling heavenly. I felt like I was in Hawaii. Every flower arrangement and all the Lei was handmade and beautifully crafted. I wanted to share some images from that beautiful Wedding and I was glad and felt so honored I was invited to document the most joyous  day that unfolded on the Bride's and Groom's Wedding day.

A Mother's Treasure

"A Mother's treasure is her daughter" I recently had the honor of photographing my friend Heather and her daughter Sophia in their lovely home. Heather and Roland have been good friends of mine ever since the early days when we were all working at the San Diego Marriott downtown. We had lots of laughs with some good memories while working together. These two were so nice to me, they helped me a lot especially during my first month learning everything all about the hotel and our department. I have watched these two fall in love, get married, and bring into the world the cutest & sweetest daughter any parent would wish for. We had lost touch a little, Heather left the Marriott, a few years later I left. Roland stayed behind for a little and then I got married and had children of my own. Even though we didn't hang out or see each other as often as before I never stopped thinking of them as "not my friends anymore." When I heard about the significant trial that these two were facing, I immediately contacted Heather and offered to take her Portrait. She is one of the most sweetest, kindest, & loving person that I have met. I wanted to give her this gift of pictures because pictures like these are the most priceless treasures a family can have. We should always take time to celebrate our life, count our blessings, never shy away from our own beauty. We must exist in photos. ‪#‎glamourphotography‬ ‪#‎naturallight‬ ‪#‎naturalbeauty‬ ‪#‎existinphotos‬ #suebrycestyle

Spring is coming...

As I was walking almost franticly this morning after dropping the kids off at school and trying to remember all the errands that I have to do this morning, there was something in the air that made me look up and appreciate how beautiful the morning was. The sun was shining, not a cloud in the sky, well at least here in my part of town. Then I noticed the trees around our Condo, the small flowers right along the branches are starting to bloom. I thought to myself, Spring is coming.

Now I know a lot of people will disagree with me because according to the official calendars, Spring doesn't really start until around March. But for me, living in San Diego, it seems like Spring comes early than other parts of the Country. What does that mean, for me it's time for a lot more outdoor fun activities. I will be able to teach my oldest son to ride his bike without training wheels, teach my youngest how to pedal so he can ride his tricycle more. Maybe I will finally teach them how to fly a kite, and of course some Spring photos. I always try to celebrate different seasons with my wife and our children with pictures. Spring brings a different kind of light when you take some naturally lit photos. So get your cameras ready folks, "Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." From my favorite movie of all time, Ferris B.

Existing in Photos

I find that the most beautiful women are the ones that are really shy to show how naturally beautiful they are. I have been trying to ask my friend Jenelle if I could take her portrait just for fun and she would always say that she is really shy and never wants to be the center of attention. Showing someone how beautiful they are does not mean to be the center of attention, I just want to share and show all women of all ages that they are more beautiful than they think. We all must exist in photos, not just for ourselves but for our loved ones as well. I feel like today's portraits are far more precious than before. We need to cherish and treasure them for it is the most precious gift that we can share to our loved ones.

I am really excited to share with everyone the highly anticipated keepsake that I will be offering to my new Wedding clients. An heirloom is very important to have especially for the newly formed family. For me, it is the one thing that I will always hold dear and share with my children to show them how blessed they are to have such loving parents. An Wedding Album is the one keepsake that we can go back and relive one of the happiest day of our lives.

For the longest time I have been struggling finding the right Album that will represent my style and the way I feel about my Wedding Clients. I want my Clients to have the best Wedding Photography experience but also I want them to have a Timeless Keepsake that they will  proudly share from one generation to another. Introducing our 14 x 14 Top of the Line Album that is included in our Platinum Collection. Completely handmade, Flushmount Album, professionally printed in Metallic and coated for extra protection and durability with thick pages, and made with a durable square spine. Finally, it is delivered beautifully gift wrapped and boxed to give my Clients the most exquisite and timeless heirloom that they will keep forever.

My Mother's Tale.

"No one will ever love You like your Mother loves You." "A Mother's love for her child is like nothing else in the world." "A Mother's heart is always with her children."

We have all heard about famous quotes about Mothers, their passion for taking care of their children, their sacrifices, and their love for her children.

My Mom has always been proud of who she is and where she came from. Grew up in a small town in Cavite, Philippines. My Mom has always taught me about working hard and being proud of your work as long as you do it diligently and conscientiously. Even though she never graduated College, she did her best to make her own family proud of what she has accomplished.

I had the chance this past weekend to Photograph my Mom and I wanted to put her on the spotlight just once. I also wanted to update some of her photos. The last time she had her photo taken was back in the 90s when Glamour Shots was really popular. She never likes to be the center of attention. But now that I have the power to capture real life and real emotions through Photography, I would like to stand tall and proudly show how strong and beautiful is my Mom.

First Maternity session

On times when I don't have any Wedding clients or no one has booked me for a Portrait session, I have always turned to shooting dancers. For me, it is a way for me to go back to basics. To dig deep within myself and try to push my creativity and most times, I end up with a result that just makes my artist's soul float up high in the clouds.

I have met Angela a few years back through an Ad that I saw at a Casting Call website that I responded to do some photos for her Dance company. After that session, I saw how great and amazing her talent was for dancing. I have kept in contact with her and did some more shoots with her and we ended up creating some amazing images. A few of our friends said that the images that we did were like an amazing piece of art. Several months have passed we both got busy with our schedules from work and family. Then recently, I discovered that Angela have been blessed and is soon to have a child. She called me and have asked me to do some maternity portraits of her.

I always feel so privileged and proud to be a part of someone's life story and watch them grow to be better individuals on this earth. It is always an honor to be part of their life event and help them share their story and maybe inspire someone to help push for their goals and their dreams to make this place we call home a better one for our children. Angela, I know you will be a great Mom and I wish you all the best.
